Winter Day Camp 2012!

As with all Vermont creatures, there are only a few options for our local kids during the winter. If they're not migrating to warmer climes over the break, and if they're not the sort to hibernate all week, then this camp will help them learn to adapt and thrive in our snowy environment. A healthy homemade lunch, recreation, games, and experiential learning will set the stage for our daily adventures into snow country. We will lead them on winter explorations from our home base where they will learn to cross-country ski and ice fish, hunt for signs of local wildlife in the woods, and meet new friends. Open to grades k-8.
Monday-Thursday, February 27-March 1, 9am -3pm, $35/day or $125/session. Scholarships available. Contact Maria to register.

Northern Explorers Residential Camps

Northern Forst Canoe Trail partners

New in 2011! The Northern Forest Canoe Trail is a 740-mile waterway traverse from Old Forge, New York to Fort Kent, Maine.

This summer, the NFCT is launching the Northern Forest Explorers Outdoor Program and NorthWoods is excited to lead this adventure in Vermont and New Hampshire!

The Journey: Explorers make their own paddles at the NorthWoods campus, test their team on the challenge course, then spend days and evenings on the river. Here, Explorers practice in-depth outdoor skills and wilderness ethics, investigate natural resources, and gain a new perspective on the cultural history of these significant waterways.
