Day Camps
Nature Day Camp
Ages 6-13
All aboard the Steward Ship! NorthWoods’ Nature Day Camp is an experience not to miss! Guided by a unique outdoor theme, each day is packed with fun activities and plenty of time to play and make new friends. An optional overnight campout is scheduled for Thursday (parents welcome).

Daily activities include:
Environmental Discovery: Explore our forest,streams, and fields and learn about Northern Forest mammals, birds and trees.
Recreation: Enjoy swimming, hiking, canoeing, ropes course, fishing, archery, and more.
Crafts: Help build our Steward Ship, practice science illustration, carve walking sticks and more.

Dates:
Session 1: July 5- 9
Session 2: July 12- 16
Time: Daily drop-off at 8:30am; pick-up at 4:30 pm; Friday pick-up at 9 am
Overnight: Thursday

NEW! Survival Day Camp

Ages 10-13
Join us for NorthWoods’ first ever Survival Day Camp for junior high students. We’ll head deep into the NorthWoods rivers and forests as we learn traditional fire building and camp craft, design survival shelters, navigate by map, compass, and canoe. We will practice safe backcountry travel and wilderness ethics.

Traditional skills, like wood-carving and blacksmithing will also be explored. An optional overnight campout of night walks and campfire cooking is scheduled for Thursday evening. Earn your badge of survival when you take the NorthWoods Survival Challenge.

Dates: August 2- August 6
Time: Daily drop-off at 8:30am, pick-up at 4:30 pm; Friday pick-up at 10am

Outdoor Adventures I: Canoeing
Ages 14-18, residential
High School students: Got a sense of Adventure? Start your summer vacation in the great outdoors! Take advantage of the outdoor adventures found in the Northeast Kingdom. The week will begin with team building on the low ropes course and setting up camp here at NorthWoods. Tuesday we’ll pack up for a three day exploration of the Connecticut River. The adventure will include paddle safety and instruction, outdoor and survival skills, low-impact camping techniques and fireside cooking.

Dates: June 21- 25
Time: Drop-off Monday at 1pm; Pick-up Friday at 9am
Cost: $300 includes all meals and group equipment.

Climbing camp

Outdoor Adventures II: Climbing
Ages 14-18, residential
This second week of Outdoor Adventures Camp can be combined with Outdoor Adventures I: Canoeing or enjoyed on its own. We’ll provide an introduction to climbing: on the low and high ropes course, on rock, and in the mountains. We’ll set up home base at NorthWoods, for swimming, fishing, and delicious backcountry meals. We’ll spend an evening in a lean-to high on top of Burke Mountain. Challenge your mind and body, and spark your sense of adventure...

Dates: June 28- July 2
Time: Drop-off Monday at 1pm; Pick-up Friday at 9am
Cost: $300 includes all meals and group equipment
