NorthWoods is hiring local youth ages 14-20 for crew member positions on local conservation crews. Crews work at various refuges and project sites over a six-week hands-on educational and job-training program administered in partnership with the US Fish and Wildlife Service. Education and Outreach Instructor (half-time) - Deadline April 9

Conservation Sciences
GIS Mapping Internship - Deadline May 31
Aligned with the NorthWoods Conservation Science program, this internship offers an opportunity for dedicated students to gain direct GIS experience with ArcMap 9.2. Work may involve some data entry, feature and attribute editing, aerial photography interpretation, and data analysis; however the majority of the work will involve cartography.
Intern must:
- work a minimum of 15 hours per week
- commit to at least six weeks
- have completed GIS coursework
- and be detail-oriented.
While this is an unpaid position, interns will receive the guidance to be able to perfect their map-making skills while working on a variety of conservation projects. Housing may be available.
