Ancestor to the modern-day bowsaw, the buck saw shown above was a common model before the mass-production of lighter, more durable metal tools. The cutter teeth and rakers are similar to that of a traditional crosscut saw. The h-frame allows for tightening and loosening of the blade for maintenance.
