One of the ways you can help NorthWoods is by donating new or used items in good working order for use in our programs. Please call Diana (x114) to arrange pick-up of items or for information about volunteering. Remember, your in-kind donation and expenses associated with volunteering (mileage, etc.) are tax-deductible.

Equipment and Supplies:

• Log Splitter (PTO or self-powered)
• Gas powered generator
• Folding chairs
• Lumber for building/craft projects
• Wood or fiberglass step ladders
• 4x4 work truck
• Commuter vehicles (sedan or mini-van) in good condition
• Old-fashioned tin or wood bread box
• Snowmobile (for research and winter access)
• Hand Crank Powered Flashlights

Volunteer With NorthWoods
Volunteer opportunities, indoors and out
Join our Thursday Volunteers group and help with any number of projects at NorthWoods, or sign up for one of these opportunities:
• Greeting skiers Saturdays and Sundays (2-4 hours) during ski season
• Folding and mailing the next Stewardship Circle or other mailings
• Baking treats for a Kingdom Coffeehouse in your kitchen or ours
• Trail monitors and maintainers for local NEK hiking trails
• Monitoring water quality, birds, mammals, etc. with our science staff
• Doing Timber Stand Improvement work in our demonstration forest
• Helping out with winter school and camp programs
