Dr. Paul Spitzer, professional ecologist and naturalist, will share Lessons from the Osprey, from 5:30-6:30pm in the NorthWoods Lodge. Dr. Spitzer has conducted research in Mexico, Belize, New Zealand, India, and the Atlantic coast, focusing on Osprey and other tropical migrant birds. New Hampshire-based fly fisherman and fly tier, Jonathan Zukowski, will be hosting a casting clinic here at the NorthWoods lodge and stocked pond. Casters of all abilities are welcome to learn new techniques, practice old ones, and further develop the skills of fly fishing. Supervised children, ages 10 and up, are welcome. NorthWoods can provide fly rods, at no additional cost, upon request. No fishing license required to fish the private pond.Find out more

Climate change is impacting forests worldwide, and northern Vermont is no exception. This tour of the 1,473 acre NorthWoods forest will focus on climate-adapted silviculture and management, showing our use of Foresters for the Birds and NIACS Adaptation Workbook recommendations.
Discussions will be geared toward foresters and experienced land managers; contact us for CEU availability.
