A NorthWoods Stewardship Center & Burke Mountain Partnership

MISSION: To share our passion for exploring and understanding the natural world, while developing technical mountain biking skills in a safe, fun and adventurous environment.

All camps include hiking, environmental awareness, and team building challenges in addition to mountain biking and meet at Burke Mountain.

Outdoor Adventure Camps 

Dates: July 3-7 | July 24-28

Age: 7-14

Burke Mountain and NorthWoods Stewardship Center team up and offer a camp experience that offers the best of the Northeast Kingdom’s outdoor adventures: swimming, mountain biking, hiking, canoeing, rock climbing, nature exploration, and camp skills, including fire and shelter.  For both novice and experienced outdoor explorers.

9am- 4pm, Monday – Friday

Camp meets daily at Sherburne Base Lodge at Burke Mountain


Mountain Bike Adventure Camps 

July 11-15 | July 18-22 | August 8-12

Ages: 7-14

For kids who love to travel on two wheels! Burke Mountain Bike Park Instructors and NorthWoods experienced staff team up to provide a dream camp experience for those kids who love to travel on two wheels (and to cool off in a river or lake after!).  Camp includes an introduction to bike maintenance, trail-building, and nature exploration.  Skill progression is developed on the downhill trails at the Burke Mountain Bike Park and on Kingdom Trails.

9am-4pm, Tuesday- Saturday, Optional Overnight Friday.

Saturday Pick-up at 1pm.


Mountain Bike Adventure Camp: Junior Counselor Training Session

June 22-24

Ages: 13-16

This training session is geared toward preparing young adults to hone and share their skills on a bicycle and as a group leader.  Training will include skills progression on cross-country and downhill terrain, first aid training, and leadership development.  After completing the Training Session, campers are eligible to work as a Junior Counselor at a Mountain Bike Adventure Camp. This training session is also a challenging, fun and valuable experience for young adults who do not plan to work as a Junior Counselor, but want to develop skills with their peers.

9am-4pm, Thursday – Saturday, Overnight Friday.
