DESCRIPTION:Choose your weekend! \nSpring Training: April 25-27 at Northwoods Stewardship Center\, East Charleston\, VT\nFall Training: September 12-14 Kehoe Conservation Camp\, Castleton\, VT \nIf you love your woodlands\, enjoy seeing wildlife and want to learn how a healthy forest can enhance wildlife habitat\, provide recreational and timber benefits this weekend is for you! Learn about managing your woodlands and reaching out to others in your community by attending. This program connects you with resource professionals\, landowners and others while learning how you can improve your woodlands. To learn more\, apply online\, see a sample agenda or download an application visit our website at www.vtcoverts.org or click here for the application. Contact Lisa Sausville lisa@vtcoverts.org with questions. \nPlease note a $100 deposit is required to hold your spot and is refundable upon request at completion of the Training. In exchange\, participants agree to fully participate in the Training and to share information on forest management with others in the coming years as part of a neighbor-to-neighbor network. Food and lodging provided in a camp or dorm like setting. \nVermont Coverts is a peer-to-peer community of landowners\, professionals and others learning from and supporting each other to enhance wildlife habitats through sound forest management. Coverts Cooperators are forest landowners and/or community members who are interested in having an impact on their own land and in their communities.

SUMMARY:NWSC Seed Series: Riparian Woody Plant Phenology for Spring Collection
DESCRIPTION:Wednesday\, April 30\, 2025 \nTime: 5:30-7:30pm \nWhere: NorthWoods Stewardship Center \nJoin the Riparian Lands Team at NorthWoods Stewardship Center as they kick off NWSC’s Seed Collection Series and walk you through spring phenology of target tree and shrub species for seed collection across Vermont. Hear about seed collection and processing techniques used for spring species and how you can help us scout for species of interest. \nThis is the first in a series of events on seed collection. Attendees of this event will be invited to practice what they have learned by participating in field collection workshops in northern Vermont in May and August. Can’t make the Spring workshop? We will be holding a public Fall Phenology workshop on September 22\, with a collection day in October. \nThis class is eligible for 1.5 Society of American Forester CFE category 1 credits. Subsequent field collection day will be eligible for 2.5 SAF CFE Category 1 credits. \nThis educational program is funded in part by the Vermont Housing and Conservation Board and made possible by the Great Lakes Fisheries Commission. \nRegister Here
