During his 44 years as Orleans County Forester, George Buzzell exemplified the best practice of his trade, including research that helped to re-define sugarbush management in Vermont. George also cast a welcoming net\u2013encouraging education and inviting the widest community into the conversation and practice of forestry.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last spring, we unfortunately had to postpone the in-person celebration recognizing 2019\u2019s recipient <strong>Allen Yale<\/strong>, and again when celebrating 2020\u2019s recipient <strong>Cedric Alexander<\/strong>. In lieu of gathering at the NorthWoods lodge to share stories and celebrate the life and legacy of George Buzzell, we have collected some words of recognition from friends, families and colleagues about the recipients.
