Winter Ahead: Here\u2019s to the woolly bears, Farmers Alamanac and La Nina forecasters \u2013 we join you in <\/strong>predicting \/ hoping for a bountiful winter ahead! Cue up the snow, and the winter magic\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n

Trail access is open to the public, by donation. Brighton, Charleston and Morgan residents are encouraged to use our trails for free. Our lodge will not be open to the public, as it is busy for school groups throughout the week and closed on weekends, except for special events. However, trail users are welcome at any time; please sign in at the Kiosk located just outside the Main Lodge, and pick up a map there. The portalette is located across from the kiosk.<\/p>\n

Furry friends are welcome; please keep them on leash in the parking lot, and in voice control on the trails \u2013 and of course, please pick up after your pooch.<\/p>\n

We plan to groom the full network 3 days a week. Stay up to date on conditions via our grooming report on TrailHub \u2013 click here to learn more<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Ski and snowshoe rentals will be used primarily with school groups and outreach events. Groups of 6 or more can set up a rental reservation through ski@northwoodscenter.org.<\/p>\n

The Bunkhouse at the NorthWoods campus can be reserved for a group and includes trail access. Contact education@northwoodscenter.org to learn more about an overnight experience.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll be adding Hopkins Hill Trail to our groomed trail count this winter \u2013 this former town road features barn and house foundations. For those who like off-piste adventure, enjoy our ungroomed\/snowshoe trails, and consider an adventure that starts from the NorthWoods trailhead on East Echo Lake Road \u2013 a great starting point to head out onto the frozen Echo Lake, or explore the demonstration forest. New this year, we\u2019ll keep this trailhead plowed for public parking and access.<\/p>\n

Once again, NorthWoods will team up with Burke Mountain to manage the Dashney Nordic Center in East Burke. Rentals are available Friday \u2013 Sunday, and trails are open 7 days\/week. We\u2019ll host groups from this location as well.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll also be working with the State of Vermont again to groom the beautiful Willoughby State Forest trails at the south end of Willoughby Lake.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
