Meg Carter moved around between the East and West coasts as a kid, and graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon with a Bachelor\u2019s of Science in Environmental Biology. She came to Vermont in 2010 as a fresh college graduate, moving from Oregon to work on a farm in Wheelock. After a winter working as a lift attendant at Burke Mountain, she started working for NorthWoods the following spring as a Forestry Intern. That summer, she worked as an Assistant Crew Leader for the local Corps crew and then started the Fall season as the Conservation Science AmeriCorps member. After two years of AmeriCorps in the Conservation Science department, Meg started full-time work at NorthWoods as the Conservation Science Specialist, and then over the next few years transitioned into the roles of Conservation Science Coordinator and then Director.<\/p>\n

Meg\u2019s main focus has been the implementation of water quality and wildlife habitat improvement projects but has dabbled in hazard mitigation planning, tactical basin planning, and invasive species management.<\/p>\n

In her free time, she enjoys reading, camping, experimental cooking, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, painting, lounging in the grass on a sunny day, and collecting shiny little trinkets like a magpie.<\/p>\n
