Katlynn was raised with a love for the outdoors. As a kid, she spent her days searching for salamanders in her backyard creek, pestering snakes pretending to be the Crocodile Hunter and going on hikes with her family. So, it\u2019s no wonder she incorporated that love in her international studies bachelor\u2019s degree from Cazenovia College by focusing her senior capstone on anthrozoology and the role of wildlife photography in conservation.<\/p>\n
After bouncing around upstate New York working as a substitute teacher, a service provider for kids with developmental disabilities, and an environmental educator for Mine Kill State Park through AmeriCorps and the SCA, Katlynn realized she had a knack for working with kids and a passion for cultivating wonder for the natural world. Upon learning about NorthWoods and their work through AmeriCorps, she took a chance and moved up into the great unknown of the NEK.<\/p>\n
Since arriving here, Katlynn served two terms as an AmeriCorps environmental education and outdoor recreation instructor before stepping up into a full-time role as the Education and Natural Sciences Program Coordinator. In her free time, she still enjoys exploring woods and waters looking for critters and cool plants, as well as gardening, kayaking, reading, growing over 30 species of succulents, crafting, and cooking.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
