Have you been looking for a way to get out and enjoy the winter days honing your bird-watching (and listening) skills? Join in the 124th Audubon Christmas Bird Count! This massive and long-running citizen science event is held every year throughout North America and provides important data on bird populations. This June the Forest Stewardship Institute at NorthWoods assisted in organizing two birding events to educate the public on the importance of bird habitat in Vermont, how land managers can work to create and manage important habitat features, and how to identify birds by sight and sound.
