Jenny grew up in the Northeast Kingdom surrounded by family, fields, wetlands, and forests. After graduating from Stanford University with a degree in earth science, she joined the Peace Corps and spent two years in Bolivia working with women’s groups and soaking in amazing culture and scenery. After returning to the U.S. and spending some time back home, Jenny decided that forestry would be a great way to apply her skills and get to work outside, so she returned to academia and completed a master’s degree in forestry at the University of Montana.
Forestry brought Jenny back east to West Virginia. She got an immersion in the diverse, beautiful, and resilient central Appalachian forests working as a forestry consultant. Jenny branched out to other natural resource management areas and worked as a project manager for a wide variety of environmental and natural resource projects including rural wastewater infrastructure, ecological restoration, and watershed-scale planning.
But the Green Mountains, and specifically the Northeast Kingdom, kept calling and Jenny is thrilled to be back where her love of everything natural began. Jenny joined the NorthWoods staff in 2025 as Forestry Program Coordinator.
