Do you love spending time in the Willoughby State Forest on skis or snowshoes? We know it is a favorite network for many locals and visitors.
NorthWoods Stewardship Center contracts with the State of Vermont Department of Forests, Parks and Recreation to groom the ski and snowshoe trails in Willoughby State Forest. This year, we are seeking volunteers to help prep the trails for winter fun.
Meet at the parking CCC Road parking lot, just off Rte 5a at 8:45 am.
We’ll finish by 1 pm. Wear workwear (gloves, boots, long pants, long sleeves) and bring along water, snacks/lunch and layers. No prior experience necessary. NorthWoods will provide hand tools, brush saws and protective equipment. Note that chainsaw use is restricted to staff.
The Northeast Kingdom Backcountry Coalition will also be hosting a volunteer work day on the backcountry glades on the same day – so winter enthusiasts of all types can meet, greet and get ready for winter together.
Registration preferred, but not required.
