Ben graduated from Connecticut College in 2022 with a degree in Biochemistry and two minors in Computer Science and Applied Statistics. However, memories of backpacking through the White Mountains and perusing Cape Cod tide pools persisted, and convinced him to apply his skillset towards protecting the outdoor world he grew up loving.

Ben started out in marine focused conservation in positions spanning: The British Virgin Islands, Key Largo Florida, Chincoteague Virginia, and Cape Cod, Massachusetts. Across these locations he got to experience roles in education, field work, and community outreach and engagement. His interest in watershed work solidified after a seasonal gig in Martha’s Vineyard where he worked with Cyanobacteria, water quality, and how human activities impact the waters we enjoy.

He is thrilled to bring his skills and experiences up north to the NEK and to begin his journey at NorthWoods. As the Watershed Projects Coordinator Ben is looking forward to deploying meaningful projects to mitigate our impacts on nature, while immersing himself in the beauty of the far north.

In his free time you will find him hiking, paddling, skiing, traveling, and watching his Green Bay Packers.
