Join us at NorthWoods for the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Hunter education course. Would-be hunters must successfully complete the Hunter Education course in order to purchase their first license. All courses are led by certified volunteer instructors, all are free, including materials, and all are open to all ages and experience. All courses, reading materials, and exams are written at a 6th grade reading level.

Sessions will be held every Tuesday and Thursday from April 7th-16th from 6pm-9pm, with a final session on Saturday, April 18th from 8am-12pm. Participants must attend all the course dates and hours. Throughout the course your instructor will cover many topics including firearm handling, ethics & safety, map & compass and so much more.
There will be a live fire exercise and exam. Participants who pass all aspects of this course will be presented with their orange firearm hunter education certificate at the end.

Dress for the weather and bring a water bottle. Do not bring your own gun or ammo. All supplies will be provided to you at no cost. Students under 16 must bring a parental consent form.
Course accommodations can be made, free of charge, with advanced notice. Please call 802-828-1193 or email [email protected] with any requests, questions, or help with registration.
