Woods & Waters Day Camp

August 5-9 Ages: 6 – 14 Join us for the quintessential NorthWoods Experience! Centered around scientific exploration and outdoor skills, in this camp we’ll explore the Clyde River ecosystem, swim daily in local waterbodies, hike a nearby peak, practice survival skills and attempt to build a boat made of cardboard & duct tape. Daily themes include Swimming, Paddling, Wildlife Exploration, and Backcountry Basics. Camp ends with a boat race on the pond with the camp-made boats! Day camp. Climate Resilience in Her Forest

This means that women landowners are more likely to focus their land management goals on reducing the effects of climate change. August 12-16 Ages: 10-15 Adventure Camp is an exploratory camp experience that brings participants around the Kingdom to dabble in outdoor activities. Climbing, Paddling, Swimming, Hiking, Fishing, Biking, and more. No experience or equipment is needed. Game of Logging Levels 1 & 2

Level 1 - Saturday, August 17, Level 2 - Sunday, August 18 Cost: $220 per level Expert instructors from Northeast Woodland Training will teach the fundamentals of safe chainsaw use, precision tree felling, and equipment care. Bald Mountain Volunteer Carry

Before the 35th Anniversary Party at the NorthWoods Lodge on Saturday, August 24th, we'll be hosting an optional volunteer hike up Bald Mountain. Join us, alongside the VT Forest Parks & Recreation and the Green Mountain Club on Saturday morning at 10am to help us carry oak boards up Bald Mountain to replace the existing fire tower steps. Game of Logging Levels 3 & 4

Level 3- Saturday, September 7, Level 4 - Sunday, September 8 Cost: $220 per level Ready to step up your chainsaw game? Levels 3 and 4 give experienced sawyers the skills to deal with challenging trees and hazardous situations in the woods. Level 3 focuses on trees with heavy lean, compression/tension, and limbing/bucking techniques. Level 4 shows you how to deal with hung-up trees, and may include winching, rope use, harvest pre-planning, or other topics, depending on the group interests. Outreach Events and Workshops Cancellation Policy: Unless otherwise noted, 50% refunds will be provided for cancellations made at least a week before workshop start date. No refunds for reservations cancelled less than seven days before the workshop start date. Workshop dates and venues are subject to change. NorthWoods Stewardship Center reserves the right to cancel a program at any time, in which case NorthWoods will notify registrants via email and a full refund will be provided.
