Project Overview The NorthWoods Stewardship Center, located in the Clyde River Watershed in East Charleston, Vermont is an organization with a strong sense of place. As a conservation and educational organization in the North East Kingdom of Vermont, many of our programs and projects emphasize the importance of local stewardship to promote healthy ecosystems. NorthWoods and MWA to Host Clyde River Wetlands Paddle

NorthWoods Stewardship Center and Memphremagog Watershed Association will host a canoe tour of the Upper Clyde River Wetlands complex -- home to over 100 species of birds and rich flora -- on Friday, July 25th, from 9am to 1pm. Mapping the Upper Clyde River Watershed

The Upper Clyde River wetlands are exceptional in terms of their diversity of natural communities and the many rare plant species found here. These wetlands also contribute to overall water quality by absorbing flood waters and filtering sediment and nutrient inputs from the surrounding uplands. In coordination with VT Agency of Natural Resources, NVDA, and area landowners, NorthWoods has completed a two-year mapping project of the upper wetlands, issuing the Clyde River Wetlands Natural Community Mapping Project Final Report.
